Crockpot Butter Chicken

A creamy and flavorful butter chicken made easily in a crockpot.

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place chicken thighs in the crockpot.
  2. Add chopped onion, garlic, and ginger.
  3. Pour in the tomato sauce and coconut milk.
  4. Add butter, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, coriander, and salt.
  5. Stir to combine all ingredients.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  7. Shred chicken before serving.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
