  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 can beef broth (15 oz)
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the beef roast in the crockpot.
  2. Mix the au jus gravy mix, beef broth, and water in a bowl.
  3. Pour the mixture over the beef.
  4. Season with black pepper.
  5. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender.
  6. Shred the beef with two forks.
  7. Toast the hoagie rolls lightly.
  8. Fill each roll with shredded beef and top with provolone cheese.
  9. Serve with the broth for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add sliced onions and peppers.
  • Use a different cheese if desired.
