German Goulash

A hearty and flavorful German goulash made with tender beef and rich spices.

  • 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 can (14 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 medium carrots, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add beef cubes and brown on all sides.
  3. Add onions and garlic, sauté until onions are translucent.
  4. Stir in paprika and caraway seeds, cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add diced tomatoes and beef broth, bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours.
  7. Add carrots and bell pepper, cook for another 30 minutes.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
